Community Service Options, Inc. is a non-profit organization, founded in 1989, for the purpose of assisting people with developmental disabilities (EX. mental retardation, autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and related conditions acquired before the age of 22) to receive “appropriate and least restrictive” services in the community.

Some of the services we provide are:

• Pre-admission screening
• Eligibility determination
• Service arrangement and coordination
• Advocacy throughout its service area in the south, southwest and west-side communities of the City of Chicago.
• Social and educational opportunities.

Partnering with Chicago’s Department of Housing, among other agencies, CSO, Inc., however, addresses a broader vision and mission. The agency promotes accessible and affordable housing options for people with disabilities while advocating for the development of consumer directed and controlled program initiatives that appeal to our population and their unmet service needs.
