Welcome and thank you for viewing CSO’s website. It is a pleasure to serve your needs and be available to support you. CSO has proudly and professionally served as the independent service coordination entity for people with intellectual/developmental disability on the South and West sides of the City of Chicago.
As much as there are systemic improvements to chronicle, they are not pervasive statewide. However, CSO continues to play an integral role in representing families and other stakeholders.
CSO works with Chicago Public School system to ensure that families are knowledgeable about their rights, roles and responsibilities in the transitioning into adulthood process. We help to connect families with community and governmental resources that help to minimize the stigma and frustrations of disability. We conduct providers’ forum in the Spring to discuss what works within the systems and what changes need to be made at the providers’ levels that will enhance life and living for those served.
About four to five times a year between Spring and Summer, CSO offers a social/recreational program called Boogie Night to our clients and families. This program connects clients of different service providers together in a social environment. CSO is truly committed to partnering with our customers to speak up and speak out on disability issues.
For more information on our services, please email us or call us at (773) 471-4700.
